Sprinkle Kettle Corn

ImageMy family usually only buys kettle corn at the county fair as a once-a-year treat. Now we know how to make it at home, and we’ve been on a kettle corn kick! My sister and I decided on a whim to add sprinkles to the kettle corn today to make it even more fun! It’s so good that I ended up eating too much, and then wished I hadn’t. But it’s still worth it! 

Homemade Sprinkle Kettle Corn

1/4 cup oil

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup popcorn seeds

1 Tbsp rainbow sprinkles

Salt to taste

Heat oil on high heat in a heavy-bottomed pan. Place 3 kernels in oil. When these pop, your oil is hot enough. Pour sugar and unpopped corn into hot oil. Let pop, shaking occasionally. Turn off heat, pour popcorn into serving bowl. Add sprinkles and salt, tossing to evenly distribute toppings. Enjoy!

Note: Feel free to add more sprinkles according to your mood! (Feeling super cheery? Or need a pick-me-up? Pour ’em in!) Or, don’t add them at all! They don’t add much flavor, just color!Image
